A bench and a stool made with a pattern pressed into it, to give the aluminum both strength and a visual quality.
The project started with a research on metal and it’s plasticity. In this case by deforming aluminum sheet into multiple patterns. Self made tools and molds in combination with a lot of pressure helped to achieve this. Finding visually attractive patterns that at the same time make the aluminum sheet strong. The pieces are made by folding the pressed sheet into shapes that follow the pattern. This results in lightweight yet strong furniture, with using as less material as possible.
